One of the best musical moments (and there were many) in the hit movie O Brother, Where Art Thou was the mass baptism scene when all the congregants sang Let's go down to the water to pray... with that incredible southern harmony. Pepper Choplin has taken that wonderful spiritual and set it for SATB a cappella voices. A few additional lyrics have been added, providing an extra verse, but the style and simplicity of the original has been maintained. Down to the Water to Pray is an excellent choice for services of baptism or general use...inspiring and fun to sing.
